Uzumlu village literally translated means 'grape yard' or 'place of the grape' and shares its plateau location with the neighbouring village of Incirkoy (fig village). The village itself is largely untouched by development and retains much of its traditional Turkish charm and lifestyle. Being some 500m above sea level the area enjoys pleasant summer night temperatures and as it's name suggests you will see many grapevines growing in all areas around the village. Produce of the area includes grape-juice, vinegar, olives, olive oil, tobacco, fig products and of course wine. There is also an active local weaving industry. Hisaronu and Ovacik Situated on a high plateau 4km from the coast and surrounded by stunning mountains, the once sleepy villages of Hisaronu and Ovacik have combined to create a lively resort which has a distinctly British atmosphere. The nearest beaches are the famous lagoon of Oludeniz or the pebble and sand beach of Belcekiz .
Hisaronu -Drive from Fethiye and you reach the charming hill resort of Hisaronu (it means 'Front of the Castle', and refers to a local ruin). As a holiday base it excels, surrounded on three sides by mountains and pine forest it is an excellent location for walking, and offers many facilities for the more active including jeep safari's, pony trekking, quad biking and parascending. In recent years the resort has become very popular with British visitors, and the shops, restaurants, and bars cater extensively for your needs.A short ride takes you to the beautiful beach resort of Oludeniz.
Ovacik is considerably a small village with a long summer season that attracts many people to the village. There are several mountains called Babadag, which is the most renowned spot for paragliders. This village is a busy area crowded with restaurants and nightlife. Olu Deniz is near to Ovacik, which is the well-known beauty spot in Turkey.Ovacik is altogether quieter and more rural with splendid views of the surrounding pine clad mountains. The air here is usually cooler and fresher than at sea level, which can be very welcome at the height of the summer
